The new decade has begun, and we would like to take a moment and thank you for your support of Kuldea across the last year, to date.

2019 has seen Kuldea launch our first website for online furniture search and discovery. We did this back in February and we’ve been growing the business steadily across the course of the year in all departments. There have been significant milestones achieved and we wish to share those with you as a summary of the year and also to provide you with the vision of where Kuldea is going in 2020 and beyond.

Retail Partnerships

Since launching the Kuldea website back in February we’ve seen our number of furniture retail partners increase to over 90 which is up from 26 when we first launched and there are now nearly 300,000 furniture items available on the website. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working very hard on our technology development and systems that will deliver market-leading furniture search and discovery experiences to consumers and detailed reporting and insights to our retail partners into the future. The goal of Kuldea continues to be ensuring retailers achieve success through an impartial and unbiased website. We’ve driven thousands of website visitors, hundreds of sales and thousands of consumer sign-ups to Kuldea who form the base of our community. Kuldea’s website allows people to search, find, discover and compare furniture items from across the entire UK market on one website, as well as favourite products, set sales alerts and create furniture Collections and share those collections with others. We have continued to improve our website throughout the year to allow our partners to showcase their product range to relevant audiences.

The DnA of Home Interiors

You may have also observed our growth into areas such as Podcasting and expansive media marketing. We launched our Podcast series called ‘The DnA of Home Interiors’ back in November and this will grow significantly into 2020. The Podcast sits alongside the many ways which our business reaches the consumer market and it offers our retail partners many opportunities to feature and grow their brands.

Kuldea has been recognised for disrupting the furniture retail market and we’ve given numerous interviews on the technology and idea of changing the ways we furnish our homes.

We’ve been featured by established interior design bloggers like The Design Sheppard, Jen Stanbrook and her Love Chic Living as well as Victoria Jackson and her Apartment number 4. It was a milestone to be featured nationwide, at the CityAM and Kuldea has been named as ‘A Cool Idea’ by the Irish World, as well as by tech-savvy outlets as UK Tech News and Enterprise Nation, to name a few.

It’s been an encouragement as well as a direct boost of brand awareness, we are hugely grateful for the ‘screen time’ given to us and we aim to be worthy in 2020.

The Kuldea team has grown from two founding members, Deirdre Mc Gettrick and Ray Wright, into 7 team members and that number with push through to 10 in early 2020.

The Future of Kuldea

The future looks very bright and your support is helping us achieve these milestones. Our aim is to serve the furniture and furnishing retail market as a highly valued partner who helps each partner connect with highly engaged consumers that have real intent to discover and buy their products. We will continue to innovate and deliver results and insights to our partners.

To summarise our vision for Kuldea in 2020:

  • We will rebrand the business in the first quarter of 2020 (yes, the news is out), deliver a new company name and look and feel to the entire brand.
  • An entirely new website will be delivered by Kuldea in alignment with the new brand. Our first website has served its purpose to test and scale the market and we are now ready to take the next step. We really wanted to understand the expectations and needs of consumers and those of our retail partners. Gathering data insights and feedback has enabled us to build a technology team and in turn, a technology platform that will deliver a first-class experience to all parties. We’ll keep you updated on our progression with the new website and you can expect to see it rolled out in the first few months of 2020.
  • A rapidly growing Kuldea team. We are scaling in every department and with our investment round secured we have begun placing key personal across the business. What this means for our retail partners is that we will be able to deliver at speed and offer highly effective support in every area.
